2015 Alaska New Years Events

When I think of New Years, all I can think of is Harry Connick Jrs rendition of "What are you doing New Years, New Years Eve."  Soooo dreamy!

I am a mom of a 1 and 4 year old, so gone are my days of partying in the New Year.  This New Years Eve, we'll celebrate by playing games at my church til about 10pm & then retreating home for cheese and crackers and a ball drop.  I bet that I will be the only one who makes it til midnight.  We shall see.

There are lost of parties I have heard of that I wish I could afford and I wish I had a babysitter for.  But Alas, you don't have to spend $50 a head to party in the new year.

I was lucky enough to sample Coppertone CLEARLYSheer sunscreen.  I did my first test drive when I planted all my seedlings in the garden.  It was such a sunny and beautiful day!
I used the spray on for my 4 year old daughter.  She thought it was cool that I was spraying it on.  I liked that I didn't have to to squirt on my hand, mash it around in my hand, and then apply.   It worked very well on her very fair, 1/2 Norwegian skin!

I opted for the tradition lotion kind.  It smelled so good.  It didn't have a chemical scent like some other sunscreens.  It was such a pleasant smell, but not overhelming.  It felt great on my limbs and neck.
Now, usually, I skip putting sunscreen on my face.  All sunscreens I have ever tried have made my face burn and sting.  I'd rather wear a hat and deal with a little burn on my face.  Since this lotion felt so light on my arms and I wanted to truly test this product, I went ahead and used it on my face.  I am happy to say that it didn't sting my face at all, even when I was in the sun and sweating.  That to me is a small miracle.  I mean, I've tried almost everything for my face for sun protection, including baby sunscreen in various forms.

The only thing I do not like about this sunscreen is that I doubt its waterproof protection. When I was sweating, it ran down into my eyes and it stung A LOT.  I was not happy with this.  I wish it had not run so much.  I don't I would recommend this lotion for children' faces for this reason.
I've used this sunscreen on myself for every outside event I have gone too.  Usually I get freckles on my face in the summer when I have been in the sun.  So far, I have no new freckles!

I recommend you always stay protected from the sun.  It is not worth the risk of skin cancer cause you want to get bronzed or you just forgot your sunscreen.  If you want a nice, pleasant, light weight, and effective sunscreen, try Coppertone CLEARLYSheer Sunscreen.

I am not a fan of going out to eat on Valentine's Day, so we planned a Mexican Valentine's Evening dinner with family.  We picked Mexican because I got to try the new Taco Bell Sauces.  Well, I shouldn't say new - I should say "newly" packaged.  Its the same old good Taco Bell Sauce.

We had tacos, rice, and refried beans.  Everyone tried sauce on their taco.  Hands down, Verdi won has the fave.  Mild was second fave.  The Fire bottle is still untouched.  Nobody was that brave.

It is really cool to have a taste of yummy fast food in the house with homemade food.  The bottle is pretty good sized.  Having it in the fridge means my husband is most likely going to dump it on every - eggs, pizza, meat, fries, potatoes, and even toast.
If you are fan of taco bell sauces, you need to get a bottle in your fridge!

January Earnings

I think that couponers, by nature are frugal.  Through couponing websites like We Use Coupons I started learning all about lots of ways online to get free products and make a little spare money.  Below is a list of goodies I got this January.  Some surveys companies, programs, or samples are available for Alaskans.  I am happy all the things below were shipped to me!

I earned $25 in Amazon Gift cards this month from Swagbucks (as well as horded away some points for February).  Over $3 of that money came from simply printing coupons from Swagbucks.
